Nursing Team of Neuromedicine Center

The Neuromedicine Center was officially established on September 2, 2021. It consists of Division of Neurology, Division of Neurosurgery, Division of Pain Medicine, and Electrophysiology Lab. It aims to practice an innovative development model. Inheriting merits and legacy of nursing services of the Hospital, the Center’s nursing team integrates resources inside and outside the Center to build a "united and industrious" team. There are three nursing units, 105 open beds, and 51 nurses, including one head nurse, two ward head nurses, eight senior nurses, 32 registered nurses, and eight nurses under training.

Nursing care that brings warmth

Patients with neurological diseases not only suffer from physical pain, but also often suffer from unconsciousness, cognitive impairment, dystonia and 自动转存图片neuropsychiatric problems. The nursing team strives to provide nursing services that bring warmth and strength. The efforts include combining empathy and skillful practice, designing a patients-friendly ward environment, and building a nursing team that cares for patients wholeheartedly.

Development with integration

At the Neuromedicine Center, its nursing team is patient-centered, and prioritizes patient experience. The team never ceases to optimize work process, and facilitate effective implementation of various tasks. It has established a nursing management system to realize the integrated management of outpatient and inpatient wards. It has sorted out documents of different specialties, and has provided training for diseases jointly managed by clinics of surgery and medicine. Theses are aimed at helping nurses at the Center gain more knowledge and expand skillsets, guaranteeing that they all provide care and services of quality.

Building the brand

The nursing team of the Neuromedicine Center keeps up with the development of medical technology, continuously exploring the depth of medical services and  professionalism to build its own brand. It has promoted early postoperative rehabilitation, built painless wards, and actively carried out intermittent catheterization. It has also standardized swallowing disorders assessment and nursing process, formulated aspiration prevention and emergency procedures, and created a full-process standardized stroke management model. The team has optimized the functional neurosurgery nursing process, and has provided patients with evidence-based nursing services, benefiting residents in the Greater Bay Area.

"One person, one plan" training program to build a talent team

The "one person, one plan" training program epitomizes the excellent brand built by the nursing team at the Hospital. The nursing team, as always, has done a good job in training that pertains to capability enhancement of different positions, levels, and specialties. It has cultivated nurses according to their abilities and expertise, so as to tap their potential and give full play to their strengths. Through business learning, joint rounds, difficult case discussions, case reports, reading reports, workshops and other forms, it has laid the foundation for skill development and enhanced the core competency of their specialist skills. The team currently has three specialist nurses and two health managers, and the talent echelon is stable. The nursing team has undertaken a project of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee, applied for three utility model patents and design patents, and published a number of papers in core journals, making continuous efforts to improve its academic influence.
