The Hospital is strengthening medical personnel training and building an international medical personnel training center, so as to accelerate the establishment of a medical personnel training system in line with international standards, as required by the Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Supporting Shenzhen in Building a Pilot Demonstration Area of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. On July 2, 2019, the SZ-HK Medical Specialist Training Centre was inaugurated in HKU-SZH. Drawing on the talent training experience of Hong Kong and foreign countries, the Hospital has introduced an international medical education and training system and is actively establishing a standardized specialist training system that meets international standards and is recognized in China. The Center consists of the governance committee and the executive committee. It has set up the "3 + 4" specialist training framework (3 years of national residency training and 4 years of specialist training in Shenzhen and Hong Kong) in line with the national standardized residency training system. It plans to provide training in nine specialties and has developed some training programs.
