The Clinical Trials Center (CTC) was founded in July 2015 and obtained the qualification of National Drug Clinical Trial Institution. By introducing advanced management model from HKU, the Center provides a variety of drug clinical trials, medical device clinical trials and in vitro diagnostic clinical trials.

　　In August 2018, it was designated as Public Service Platform for Drug Clinical Trials with funding from Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission. As of April 2022, the CTC had received over 327 invitations of clinical trials cooperation, 83 of which have been initiated. Among the initiated new drug clinical trial projects, 54% are international multi Center projects, and 59% are class 1 innovative drug clinical trials.
