  • Dental Clinic

    Dental Services at The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital introduces advanced therapy management mode from Hong Kong, diagnosis and treatment by professionals from both of Hong Kong and Shenzhen. With the integration of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, the Dental Services adopts an appointment system and provides a comfortable environment for patients.


    The Dental Services brings in international high-tech equipment, and is served by a team of senior dentists with rich clinical experience. Furthermore, the Service conducts a series of novel dental techniques, including microscopic root canal therapy, dental implant, painless topical anesthetic and hot guttapercha application in root canal treatment. The vision of Dental Services is to improve the patient’s treatment experience, strengthen humanistic care while enhancing service quality. The Service makes targeted personalized treatment plan for each patient based on the patient’s total health. 


    The Service also provide complete treatment in Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral Medicine, Orthodontics and Dental Implant. Our goal is to provide patients with comprehensive high quality dental services.

  • Oral Surgery

    Oral surgery is based on surgical treatment and management of teeth, alveolar bone, lip, cheek, tongue, palate, facial soft tissue, maxillofacial bones and temporomadibular joint related diseases. Our oral surgery clinical diagnosis and treatment is undertaken by senior dentists with rich clinic experience and education background. Meanwhile, our oral surgery department possesses a number of modern equipment of international standard, which significantly reduces the patient’s discomfort during treatment. In line with the core concept of our service-----“minimum patient discomfort”, we carry out many specialized services, for instance, painless microinvasive tooth extraction, dental implants, frenectomy, oral trauma and inflammation management. Our goal is to set up a comfortable platform for placement of dental implant prosthesis, relieve pain from oral inflammation and trauma, and eliminate obstacles related to oral soft tissue abnormalities.
  • Oral Medicine

    Main treatments includes:
    1) Caries and non-caries diseases:

    Dental restoration (filling); discoloration or defects in anterior teeth; teeth luminescence and teeth whitening therapy.


    2) Periodontal disease:

    Supragingival scaling (prophylaixs) and subgingival scaling, periodontal surgery, crown lengthening surgery, guided tissue regeneration, induced bone regeneration, tooth hemisection technique, free flap transplantation, etc; with long-term follow-up, review and re-treatment during their recovery period as well as oral hygiene instruction in order to improve the quality and increase the persistence time of periodontal teeth.


    3) Endodontics:

    Preservations of residual crown and root of teeth through root canal therapy; partial root canal therapy and re-treatment.


    4) Diseases of oral mucosa:

    Local and systemic application with psychological counseling, such as recurrent oral ulceration, oral lichen planus, burning mouth syndrome, oral submucous fibrosis, chronic cheilitics as well as other common diseases of oral mucosa.


    5) Pediatric oral diseases:
    Preventive protection of early stage immature tooth malformation central cusp, live marrow amputation, apexification, etc.

  • Prosthodontics

    Treatments includes:

    1) Fixed prosthesis:

    Using metal, metal ceramic alloys, dicor or dental ceramics materials for inlay or implant supported single crown (including after root canal therapy);

    Using metal, metal ceramic alloys, high performance ceramic materials for fixed bridge to repair multiple missing dental units;

    Using various dental ceramics material for veneering or esthetic crown repair in restoring anterior tooth diastema, tetracycline stain, simple fluorosis stains and discolored tooth after root canal therapy.


    2) Removable prosthesis:

    Using various metal, resins for removable dentures;

    Using metal, resin materials for complete dentures;

    Removable periodontal splints and telescopic denture after periodontal therapy;


    3) Implant:

    Single and/a teeth multiple implant-supported crowns;

    Full mouth implant-supported restoration;


  • Orthodontics

    Prevention and integration orthodontics in children’s dentition, all kinds of teeth and micromaxillary deformity could be conventionally treated by fixed appliance, removable appliance and functional appliance. The straight wire appliance, ceramic aesthetic treatments braces and self-locking braces low friction treatments are regularly established to correct “snaggletooth”, “malocclusion”, “irregular teeth” and “tiger teeth”. Early orthodontic treatment and dual phase correction are also carried out to deal with the problem of dento-maxillofacial deformities of mixed dentition and early permanent teeth like mandibular retrusion, malocclusion, deflected teeth, etc.
