Provision of Infertility Service
For assisted reproduction, we will set up the following clinical services in phases:
- Preimplantation genetic diagnosis/screening
As assisted reproduction treatment is a demanding and stressful treatment, we provide counseling to couples before, during or after treatment with assisted reproduction.
Our scope of clinical service is not confined to the provision of assisted reproduction. We have the expertise to provide surgical treatment of various types of pathology in the genital tract such as myomectomy for fibroids, reversal of sterilization, surgical lysis of adhesions, surgical treatment of pelvic endometriosis, management of hydrosalpinges, endoscopic removal of endometrial polyps and management of complications of early pregnancy. For patients with anovulation, we have plenty of experience in induction of ovulation with various types of drugs.
Andrology is a rising interdiscipline between Reproductive Medicine and Urology. We provide consultation, diagnosis and treatment for couples with infertility due to male factor, such as Oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia(OAT), Azoospermia, Hypogonadism, Erectile Dysfunction and other disorders of male reproductive system. Testicular sperm extraction (TESE) and microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration (MESA) is performed to obtain sperms for IVF-ET, which makes the couples with infertility due to severe male factor to have a chance at giving a birth with the husband’s sperm.
With the support of the Shenzhen Government, the HKU-Shenzhen Hospital has established the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Fertility Regulation. The Laboratory is lead by Professor P.C.
